Some hints about affordable places to eat and activities in Geneva are provided by the initiative Genève pas chere (in French).

Geneva is a very international city offering opportunities to taste the cuisine from many countries. You can find below a (non-exhaustive) list of restaurants and pubs in the vicinity of the conference venue:

  • iPub, Bd Carl-Vogt 20, 1205 Genève - pub serving pizzas and pasta dishes, also offering takeaway options.
  • Pizzeria da Michele, Bvd de Saint-Georges 73, 1205 Genève - traditional Italian pizzeria.
  • Grrreat burger bar, Bd Carl-Vogt 5, 1205 Genève - it offers a variety of burger options, also for takeaway.
  • Darshana, Av. de Sainte-Clotilde 21, 1205 Genève - Indian restaurant.
  • Naan & grill, Bd Carl-Vogt 47, 1205 Genève - Indian-style takeaway.
  • Sanuki, Rue du Conseil-Général 3/5, 1205 Genève - Japanese restaurant, takeaway also available.
  • Nyala Barka, Rue Gourgas 4, 1205 Genève - Ethiopian restaurant offering takeaway options.
  • Street Beirut, Av. du Mail 2, 1205 Genève - Lebanese restaurant also offering takeaway.
  • La Nativa, Rue Marguerite-Dellenbach 5, 1205 Genève - South American bar offering cocktails, wine, soft drinks and snacks.

A few more tips below:

  • Several pub options to grab a beer or a soft drink after the conference can be found in the nearby Rue de l'Ecole-de-Médecine.
  • In the old town, a relatively affordable place is Chez ma cousine, Place du Bourg-de-Four 6, 1204 Genève, offering French-style chicken dishes.
  • We recommend you keeping your appetite for traditional Swiss food for the conference dinner, but if you really want a pre-taste, you could try Café Remor, Pl. du Cirque 3, 1204 Genève.
